There’s something about pizza. It’s reliable, and almost ever-present. It’s a shared food, one that finds friends reuniting for slices, and brings acquaintances together as they both nervously eye the last slice on the table. Pizza can be simple, and cheap, or it can be elevated to incredible heights – and still be relatively cheap! And it feels like there are constantly new pizza places opening in London, ranging from the latest location from beloved chains, to small new places from pizza fanatics. And it can be hard to keep track of them when so many are constantly arriving! So we’ve done it for you. Here are London’s newest pizza places, as well as some that are opening soon (or even just rumours on the tomato-vines).

London’s newest pizzeria can be found nestled inside The Smugglers Tavern, a legendary Fitzrovia pub just as well known for their selection of rums as their craft beer offerings. Already well known in Peckham for their authentic Neapolitan pizza with a contemporary twist, 081 Pizzeria will be slinging out pies alongside Napoli-style tapas dishes. The perfect complement to a pint or two. Head upstairs and you’ll find the setting transformed into a Neapolitan pizzeria with delicious aperitifs, cocktails, and wines to perfectly complement your meal.

Head to the upstairs room at The Smugglers Tavern, 28 Warren St, London, W1T 5ND. The nearest tube station is Warren Street.

Thin-crust lovers rejoice, as Forno 22 is bringing the uber-thin Roman style of pizza to the streets of London. In a setting that calls to mind a delightful Italian trattoria, but with a touch of elegance, you can expect gourmet pizzas with exciting and unusual toppings. The likes of pizza carbonara join a menu with toppings that include octopus and gremolata, pear, gorgonzola, walnuts, and Parma ham, and cured bresaola with cherry tomato, rocket, and creamy stracchino cheese fondue. They also offer up Sunday brunches, calzones, and carefully made cocktails. Good luck deciding!

Pizza Pilgrims‘ latest site sees the brand transforming their Slice concept shop in Finsbury Park into a proper Pizza Pilgrims location. There, they’re serving up their dependably delicious, pillowy-soft doughs for which they’ve become well known around London. If you’ve somehow yet to try out Pizza Pilgrims, why not make your first trip to their newest pizzeria?

Find Pizza Pilgrims’ Finsbury Park location at 266 Seven Sisters Road, Finsbury Park, N4 2HY. The nearest tube station is Finsbury Park.

Cinquecento has brought their traditional Neapolitan pizza, and dishes “just like Nonna used to make” up to Haverstock Hill. Named for the temperature needed to make Neapolitan pizza (500°), they keep it truly authentic with 100% Italian ingredients going into their pizzas. No surprise given that the founding duo hail from Naples itself. Existing fans of Cinquecento will definitely want to check out the new location, as each site serves as a different homage to an Italian city – so new delights await!

Find Cinquecento’s latest opening at 73 Haverstock Hill, NW3 4SL. The nearest tube station is Chalk Farm.

As the Daisy Green Collection‘s 12th site, this might not be the most obvious place to head to for a slice of pizza pie. But they’ve got twin bespoke Gozney woodfired pizza ovens right on board (and they’re named ‘Peggy’ and ‘Jean’). Situated on the water, you’re treated to gorgeous views of the Thames as you chow down on a lazy Aussie brunch, or fire-cooked delights such as calamari or t-bone steaks. Or, you know, the pizza. Obviously. Fancy something slightly outrageous? They offer up a Vegemite and Cheese pizza that has to be tried to be believed.

Already well established, with a reputation for dough-lightful pies across Brighton and Hove, BoxPark Croydon, and BoxPark Shoreditch – beloved pizza joint Fatto A Mano have now found a new and thriving hub in King’s Cross. They’re offering up a crowd-pleasing menu of 12 different pizzas, six beers on tap and some mouthwatering sides. Graze on such delights as Campania fries, Sicilian olives, buffalo bocconcini, and tasty fennel tarallini, alongside your pizzas. Need more convincing? One Secret London writer declared Fatto Mano to have “quite possibly the best pizza you’ll find anywhere in the capital“.

Grab a pie by heading to Unit 1, 3 Pancras Square, London, N1C 4AG. Nearest tube station is King’s Cross St. Pancras.

This Italian-hailing pizzeria already counts six locations across northern Italy, where they’ve been perfecting the art of the real Neapolitan Pizza before bringing it to London. A hidden gem in Covent Garden, away from the hustle and bustle of the weekend madness, Vasinikò prioritizes freshness and aroma as they serve what they promise to be “one of the best original Neapolitan pizza[s] in London“. They also have a whole host of pasta, sides, starters, desserts, and drinks to round out the menu. And make sure you don’t miss out on the fried pizza while you’re there!

You’ll find Vasinikò at 9 Burleigh Street, Covent Garden, WC2E 7PW. The nearest tube stations are Covent Garden and Temple. 

The Made of Dough team have brought an all day Italian bar and diner to Crystal Palace, and there’s vibes aplenty with an on-site record library, and live DJs. Palazzo is open late everyday, and while the kitchen is open you can expect a perfect selection of Italian delights alongside a short but sweet offering of the team’s award-winning pizzas. Be sure not to skip the chicken milanese or the mozzarella fritti with scotch bonnet honey. And definitely take advantage of their delicious deals: 1/2 price pizza on Monday, 2-for-1 cocktails from 5 PM – 7 PM every weekday, and free pizza for kids on Sundays. They also offer up bottomless pizza and booze for just £40 a person on Saturdays – that’s the weekend plans sorted.

Happy Face wonderfully brings together delicious pizza with incredible prices. Renowned for their puffy light dough and punchy flavours, the pizza is made using a 72-hour dough ferment to create a lighter, fluffier crust. The best part? The Neapolitan style pizzas, start at just £5. We’re frankly not sure how you’re still here reading this after seeing that price. Go, go, go!

Following two years of pop-ups around London, and on the back of winning multiple awards (including being a National Pizza Awards finalist in 2021), Flat Earth Pizza found a home in East London back in April. London’s most sustainable pizza joint offers up vegan and vegetarian pies made from heritage grains and locally sourced ingredients. They’ve received rave reviews for their veg-focused pizzas that attempt to redefine pizza away from being considered ‘junk food.’ And no, don’t worry, they don’t believe the earth is flat.

Flat Earth Pizza can be found at 286-290 Cambridge Heath Road, Cambridge Heath, E2 9DA. The nearest tube station is Cambridge Heath.

Here are some of the confirmed pizzerias that will soon be dropping down into the capital, as well as some whispered about possible new openings.

Not quite an opening, but definitely worth paying attention to, F.K.A.B.A.M. are doing a one day only pizza menu of slices dropping in TABASCO®  and wacky, over the top toppings. Famed for their flatbreads and bold flavours, the cult restaurant is turning its attention to pizza dough for a pizza menu that epitomizes the F.K.A.B.A.M. approach. Customers will be treated to a trio of slices, one from each of the three specialty pizzas, each more outrageous than the last. We’re talking Mapo Margherita pizzas (mapo tofu, truffled enoki mushrooms, TABASCO® Sriracha Sauce, and more), as well as the F.K.A.B.A.M. Hawaiian (which swaps out the ham for pulled pig’s head & fennel seed, and smoked pork jowl, alongside more complementary but insane toppings) and a Cocktail Hour pizza, which plops prawn cocktail right on top of a pizza. It’s all more than a bit mad, in classic F.K.A.B.A.M. style.

Check out their socials to find out how to grab a reservation, but fret not if you can’t nab one as outdoor tables will be available for walk-ins happy to brave the weather for the ridiculous slices.

Head to F.K.A.B.A.M’s restaurant at 156 Canonbury Rd, Canonbury, N1 2UP, for the one-off event. The nearest tube station is Highbury & Islington.

These sourdough pizza vendors serve up delicious pies with seasonal, sustainable produce, and plenty of natural wine to wash it all down. Their latest location will find the brand venturing south of the river to Deptford, where they’ll slide on in to Deptford High Street, joining the bustling area. At one point slated for  a September opening, social media followers will have seen that they’re actually still not quite done with the renovation of the space. We’re keeping our fingers crossed for an opening date that arrives before the end of 2022.

While details are sparing, The Caterer reports that Happy Face Pizza plans to expand to two more “neighbourhood locations” within the year. These two sites will bring Happy Face Pizza up to five total locations, spreading happy faces across the capital. But that’s literally all we know. We’ll keep our eyes peeled in the meantime for all the latest information.

There’s no concrete opening information listed on their website, besides “opening 2022.” Indeed, there’s virtually no information whatsoever across their website and socials. A comment from a few months ago on socials inquiring as to whether or not they were open merely incurred a “we wish” response. We do know the site, to which OMBRA is “somewhat related”, will serve as a bakery, pastificio, and deli – and is expected to also serve up Roman pizzas alongside a variety of dishes.

Where to find it? A tongue-in-cheek bio describes the venue as “across the road from @ombrabar.restaurant with whom we are resentfully related”. So you’ll find it (when it’s open) around 1 Vyner St, Bethnal Green, E2 9DG.

Set to launch in early November, Pulia is bringing a taste of Southern Italy to South(ish) London. Expect mouth-watering delicacies from Puglia, ranging from regional antipasti such as Burrata from Andria with Cured Ham, to traditional beef sausage spiral from Bari, to gourmet pizzas topped with the likes of Stracciatella cheese, spicy ‘Nduja or black truffle. Yum, yum, yum!
